ribbon_wifiGoogle is sponsoring free wifi at 47 airports across the US now until Jan 15th.  Accompanying it is a photo contest as well as matching donations up to $250,000 from Google to participating non-profits.

Unfortunately, DTW is not one of the participating airports. See details and participants.

“You’ll be able to win prizes by submitting a photo of yourself using the WiFi in any participating airport or on a Virgin America flight.”

Get ready for a bunch of pics of people in front of laptops. Haha! While I love the idea of free wifi, the photo contest could use more creative direction.
