9 Jan 20092007 was the year of the cupcake.
2008 was the year of bacon.
I predict that in 2009, it’s going to be all about the egg. Elph thinks it’s going to be rice. What’s your forecast?

All veggies?
I’m thinking rice, ’cause austerity will be fashionable and what’s more austere than rice? And then there’s an increasing awareness of all the different types of rice out there – mahogany, black, purple, etc – it’s a foodies dream of mix and match experimentation. And, bonus round – a lot of interesting rice is grown in the US, so yes, we get to apply the chic label of ‘local’!

I think it’ll be the year of “local.” Anything and everything, so long as it’s grown within about 100 miles of you.
Mess ‘em up. Keep moving!
