Found Yum on the FreeMacWare blog today, thought some folks in the ZCoB might like it…
Yum brings recipe organization to your Mac. I really like the feel of this application. It’s easy to create new recipes and add a list of ingredients. You can tab between fields and choose from a drop-down menu of previously entered quantities, units, and ingredients. The drop-downs come pre-filled with quantities like quart, tablespoon, or pinch and ingredients like chili sauce, milk, and lemon juice, and you can of course add your own. Then specify the instructions and how many people it serves.Yum also…calculate[s] how much of each ingredient you’ll need if you want to scale up or down what a recipe will yield.
Wired News just posted this article affirming what we’ve known about the overall value of the new intel macs. ![]()
Going where Symantec Ghost™ and SuperDuper! only dream of, NetRestore successfully takes on the task of cloning both the OS-X and Windows partitions of a bootcamp enabled Intel Mac. The procedure may look daunting, as the included instructions tend to over communicate a bit, but hey, its better than the usual under communication that plagues most tech documentation. With this essential (and free) piece of software, you can crank out duel configured macs in under 30 minutes.
Craig and I had a good meeting with our new rep from our network security vendor. We’ve had a relationship with the vendor for over 6 years and occasionally get a new rep who we bring up to speed. It’s always a two-way learning. Our new rep has a solid background in the field with lots of local connections in the industry. We talked about WAN changes and our goal of optimizing for speed/reliability/cost and some things we’re experimenting with right now and looking forward a couple of years. We also had some good chat time on where the network security industry is going with ongoing consolidation of vendors. And the ongoing topic of IP telephony came up and we shared various scenarios on how that might work for us. Every year we get closer to overwhelming compelling reasons for this dramatic change.
Here’s a look at one of the lunchboxes that will be given out at the Deli’s 25th anniversary celebration on Thursday, March 15. One prize-filled lunchbox will be given out every hour during the event and will include even more than what’s shown below, including a sample of the anniversary blend from Zingerman’s Coffee Co.

Good work, Fabian. I approve.
From the Adobe blog and The Apple Blog:
We are announcing Creative Suite 3 on March 27th. However, the software will not ship until later in Spring 2007.
The Bakehouse had a new take on the traditional chocolate bunnies of the spring season. Some of the models were brought to the Winter Huddle, and Jenny and Billie noticed something familiar in one bunny…
