xPad has been a popular text editor for a while. xPad’s “drawer” lists recent files and date created (or opened), and lets you add colored labels. You can also set the transparency of xPad, which keeps tasks and notes available but out of the way. It’s a little like Stickies mashed together with TextEdit. Best of all, the kids behind xPad are now flying the freeware flag.
