Craig’s house

Menu:
Olives, cheese and bread
Broiled white fish with caper sauce
Wasabi mashed potatoes
Green bean salad with onions and prosciutto
Bananas foster
Bonny Dune Pacific Rim Riesling
Madeira

Ingredients:
1 cat with grooming issues
1 hungry child
1 lighter
1 “electronic toy”*
5 kinds of alcohol
Several unconventional musical instruments

Preparation:
The cooking preparation commenced right after we walked into the house. We deftly maneuvered our way around Craig’s 3-butt kitchen. Joe peeled potatoes while Brian trimmed green beans. Roan munched on Brian’s green beans. Billie analyzed how to “julienne” the onion. Elph served the drinks. Craig moved smoothly between us, helping us find pans, utensils and tools. None of us remembered how to properly slice an onion. Nevertheless, everything tasted superb! The fish was perfectly cooked, the potatoes were out of this world good, the beans were delicious, and the wine accentuated the entire plate of flavors. After dinner, Billie went back into the kitchen to prepare dessert. The first batch of bananas foster bombed, but the second and third attempts were fantastic. The rest of the night was spent playing with trucks, listening to some rockin’ 45′s, and some crazy music experimentation (definitely no IT band in our future).

* A combination keyboard + record player + microphone, of course!
